Most of the information gathering to produce the text for the stories on the front page involves the
pupils acting out the role of reporter and interviewing Laurie Holmes about the two raids. Laurie
Holmes worked at the store in the Second World War and was interviewed by Sainsbury's Archives
in 1995 about his wartime experiences. Part of that interview is on the website as 7 RealPlayer files.
The files, and the sections of the Second World War gallery of the Virtual Museum where they can
be found on the site, are:
RealPlayer file |

The aim of the activity is for the children to complete a series of ‘interviews’ of Laurie using
prepared questions for each file. The interview notes would then be used as the basis for the stories
on the front page of the newspaper, adding photographs and other resources from the website.
