Sainsbury’s Red Label tea is Britain’s oldest supermarket own brand, and although the blend has probably changed slightly over time, this is one of the few products for which we can be reasonably confident in making price comparisons across time. The 2001 price is slightly inflated by the fact that the pack size (125g) is bigger than the 1911 ¼lb (113.5g).
