RealPlayer Electronic Registration

Information about Registration
During electronic registration, you can optionally send information about your general location, name, email address, and connection speed. This information is sent with relevant system and player version information.
The optional electronic registration process enables us to better understand the demographics of our user base, and gives you the option to receive e-mail notification of important news and offers, and to enter your geographic information so that you can receive customized content for your location.

RealNetworks requests your electronic registration when you first install and use the product. RealPlayer registration can be resubmitted at any time from the Help menu. Much of the data that is sent is provided by you, although some of the information sent is automatically identified about your system such as the operating system and version, and operating system locale.

You are not required to submit an electronic registration. A registration reminder will appear each time you launch RealPlayer (simply select Cancel if you do not wish to register).

Privacy Implications
By electing to submit an electronic registration, you are sending some personal information to RealNetworks, such as your name and e-mail address. RealNetworks will never sell, rent, or share your personal information supplied during electronic registration without your consent unless compelled by law or court order to do so.
No unique product ID is sent during this communication (the Globally Unique Identifier - GUIDs has been set to zeroes for electronic registration so it cannot be used to identify you).
